National Highway Fastag Recharge: Good news for FASTag users. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched 'Clean Toilet Picture Challenge', a unique initiative encouraging highway users to report dirty toilets at toll plazas along the national highway. Launched under the 'Special Campaign 5.0', the initiative aims to ensure that toilet facilities along the highways in India will be maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, while fostering active citizen participation.
Here's What You Have to Do
Individuals with FASTag accounts can report instances of dirty facilities at toll plazas by uploading geo-tagged, time-stamped images through the latest version of the 'Rajmargyatra' app and submitting them along with details such as the user's name, location, mobile number, and VRN (Vehicle Registration Number).
Here's What You Get
Each VRN reporting dirty toilets will be eligible for a Rs 1,000 reward in the form of a FASTag recharge, which will be credited to the linked VRN that the user has provided. Notably, the reward is non-transferable and cannot be claimed in cash, according to an official statement. The first-of-its-kind initiative, which combines citizen participation, technology, and accountability, continues till October 31 on all national highways under NHAI jurisdiction.

Here's What You Should Know Before Reporting
NHAI has outlined clear guidelines for FASTag account holders to keep in mind before reporting dirty toilets on national highways:
- The drive applies only to toilets constructed, operated, or maintained under NHAI jurisdiction. Toilets located at retail fuel stations, dhabas, or other public facilities not under NHAI's control are excluded.
- Each VRN is eligible for only one reward during the promotional period.
- Each toilet facility on a national highway is eligible for reward consideration only once per day, irrespective of multiple reports.
- For multiple reports of the same toilet on the same day, only the first valid image through the RajmargYatra app shall be valid
- Only clear, geo-tagged, and time-stamped images captured shall be considered. Entries shall undergo AI-assisted screening and manual validation, wherever necessary.
