Elon Musk, who was on his China trip, stated on Tuesday that he decided to launch the Robotaxi on August 8th since that day is considered lucky in that nation. Following rumours that Musk has been given the go-ahead to introduce the Full Self-Driving (FSD) autonomous software of the corporation in China, Tesla's stock price soared.
The shares of the EV company increased by over fifteen per cent. The tech billionaire agreed after an X follower announced that Tesla would have a robotaxi event on August 8, which is considered a fortunate number in China.

"In part, I chose it because, in China, the number eight is auspicious! In addition, it's my triplets' 17th birthday," the X owner said. Two major victories for Musk, according to reports, are getting certification for FSD and landing a significant data arrangement with Chinese Internet giant Baidu.

The Tesla CEO, an electric vehicle manufacturer, stated earlier this month that the robotaxi will be unveiled on August 8. His millions of fans cheered upon hearing the news. A member of X said, "Wow, can't wait to see a Tesla without a steering wheel, "The business stated in 2019 that robotaxis operations would begin in 2020. But the plan never came to pass.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk took a jibe at Mark Zuckerberg’s social media platforms including Meta, Facebook, and Instagram advertising. He claimed that Meta platforms take credit for traffic that actually comes from our platform. “Unfortunately, Meta/Facebook/Instagram is highly skilled at taking advertising credit for traffic that actually comes from our platform,” he said on X.
