Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha alleged that the protesters, who threw slippers and stones and raised “murdabad” slogans while blocking his convoy in Lakhisarai, were “goons backed by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).”

Speaking to news agency ANI, Sinha said, “These are the goons of RJD. The NDA government is coming back to power in Bihar. We will run bulldozers on their chest.”

He also alleged incidents of booth capturing at several polling stations. “They turned away my polling agent and did not let him vote...Look at their hooliganism...These is 404 and 405 booth numbers of Khoriari village.”

Sinha, a three-time MLA, is contesting again from his home seat and visited polling stations as Bihar votes in the first phase of the Assembly elections. He is contesting against Amaresh Kumar of Congress. Suraj Kumar from the Jan Suraaj Party is also contesting for this seat.

Police Dismiss Allegations Of ‘Booth Capturing’, Says ‘Voting Proceeding Peacefully’

District police chief Ajay Kumar said that the situation in Lakhisarai is under control and voting is being held peacefully. Addressing claims of “booth capturing”, he called them ‘rumours’ and said, “We visited the booths and found that voting is being held peacefully. If anyone had been stopped from casting their vote, there wouldn’t be a queue.”

He also rejected allegations that the BJP’s polling agent was intimidated at two booths, saying, “I am here, let him come. I will give him protection. The agent is not coming. If there is a complaint, we will take action. Voting in the entire district is being held peacefully.”
