Bihar Election 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming much-hyped Bihar Assembly election. The party announced its candidates for 71 out of its total share of 101 seats for the polls, claiming that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will repeat its government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. In its first list of candidates, the saffron party also announced the names of nine women candidates, including seven current MLAs.
The BJP has fielded former Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi from Bettiah, Gayatri Devi from Parihar, Devanti Yadav from Narpatganj, Sweety Singh from Kishanganj, Nisha Singh from Pranpur, Kavita Devi from Koira, Rama Nishad from Aurai, Aruna Devi from Warsaliganj, and Shreyasi Singh from Jamui. Earlier last month, Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal stated that the party will field multiple women candidates to ensure fair representation of the gender in Bihar's politics.
