The Bihar government has approved the widening and strengthening of the Madhaul-Rohua road in Muzaffarpur under the Saat Nischay-2 Sulabh Samparkta programme. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the project will play a key role in boosting regional connectivity and easing transport.
An amount of Rs 29.59 crore has been sanctioned for the 5.35 km stretch, which will pass through Susta, Madhopur (NH-28), Sherpur, Mithanpura, and Bela Imli Chowk before reaching Rohua.
Currently, large vehicles travelling from Madhaul to Rohua via the Muzaffarpur-Pusa road are forced to take a 12 km alternative route through Bhikhanpur, Masjid Chowk, and Prahladpur. The new road project will cut the distance by about 7 km, significantly reducing travel time, easing congestion at Ramdayalu, and lowering the traffic burden on the Samastipur NH.
Choudhary highlighted that since 2005, Bihar has witnessed major improvements in road infrastructure, with paved roads reaching almost every village. The Road Construction Department recently surveyed the route and submitted a report to the headquarters, based on which approval was granted.
