In a startling incident, a woman engineer travelling in Saptakranti Superfast Express from Anand Vihar to Muzaffarpur was molested by the pantry car manager in the running train, after which an FIR was registered against him.
As per the information, the woman works as an engineer in a private company and was traveling in the AC coach of the train. The accused, identified as Santosh, is a resident of Shivganj locality of Narkatiaganj.
Providing details about the incident, the Railway station in-charge, Rajkumar, said that raids are being conducted to arrest him. The female engineer was molested on April 8.
The female engineer had given an application against the pantry car manager at the Muzaffarpur Railway Police Station. Subsequently, an FIR was registered at the Narkatiaganj Railway Police Station.

What did the complainant say?
According to the 25-year-old woman's complaint, she boarded the train's third AC economy coach M-2 at Bagaha railway station at 6:10 am to go to the last station Muzaffarpur. Half an hour after boarding the train, when the train reached Harinagar railway station, the pantry car manager found her alone and started molesting her. He caught her hand and was persistent even after she protested. When other passengers came after hearing the woman's screams, he started fighting. Later, at Pipra railway station, the pantry car manager got off the train and fled.
Notably, Harinagar railway station comes under the Gorakhpur-Muzaffarpur Railway section of the route.
Police raiding to arrest accused, probing past cases
The police are making raids to arrest the accused. Meanwhile, accused Santosh Sah was earlier arrested in the year 2023 and was sent to jail. He was arrested on charges of extorting money by illegally seating passengers in the pantry car bogie. Other cases registered earlier against Santosh are also being investigated.
