In a surprising incident, a software engineer was found dead in a hotel room in Noida on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Umesh Kumar, a 38-year-old techie, a resident of Awas Vikas Colony in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh.

When the incident took place, his female friend, who was staying with her in the hotel, was inside the washroom.  They both checked into the Wamson Hotel in Noida's Sector 27 on Thursday, a day before the incident.

The woman, who is a resident of UP's Mathura, told police that she found her friend hanging from the ceiling fan when she came out of the washroom. Upon seeing the hanging body, she loudly screamed, which alerted the hotel staff.

As per the report, they both stayed in the hotel and had a dog with them. They also had a fight before the man allegedly died by suicide.

The girlfriend had rushed Umesh to the hospital after the incident. The police got information about the case from the hospital and reached there. The police have not received any complaint from the relatives so far. The hotel staff is being questioned and the police are examining the CCTV footage at the incident spot to get the additional details.

In a separate incident on April 7, a 29-year-old woman got her husband murdered by her boyfriend at a village in the Nasirabad area of the Ajmer city outskirts. The police arrested both the wife and her boyfriend on Thursday.

The woman named Janta and her boyfriend, Bashir Khan, planned to pin the blame on her co-worker in the MGNREGS scheme, the police said.  

After recovering the body, police, with the help of FSL, probed the case and found out that the suspect, Bashir killed him by slitting his throat. Following the unravelling, both the accused were arrested by the police.
