To review the preparations for launching operations on the Patna Metro's priority corridor, District Magistrate (DM) Thiyagarajan SM conducted a detailed tour with his team today. Abhilasha Sharma, IAS, who is the Additional Managing Director of the Patna Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. and a Joint Secretary in the Urban Development and Housing Department, also accompanied him during this important inspection.

In-depth Review From Stations To The Depot

The officials' tour began at the Zero Mile Metro Station, where they assessed the arrangements for parking and passenger facilities. The team then visited the ISBT Metro Station, where the condition of the access road and the issue of encroachments were discussed. At the Bhootnath Metro Station, they inspected the plans for future crowd control and smooth entry and exit for passengers. The tour concluded at the Metro Depot with a final review of the rolling stock (trains) and operational readiness.

Key Directives Issued

Following the inspection, the District Magistrate gave several important instructions to the officials. He emphasised the need for:

- Adequate and organized parking at all stations.

- Taking immediate and effective action to remove encroachments.

- Creating a strong crowd management strategy to handle the increasing number of passengers.

He stated that the government's goal is clear – to provide every passenger with a "comfortable, safe, and smooth journey" through the Patna Metro.
