Small Cap Defence Stock: Shares of Apollo Micro Systems, a small-cap defence company, traded in green during the intraday trade on Wednesday despite a heavy sell-off in equity market as the company received a Rs 73 crore order.
The Indian stock market plunged due to the escalating war between US-Iran and Israel in the Middle East. The spike in crude oil prices after Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, a key route of oil trading from Gulf nations.
The small-cap defence stock started the session in red at Rs 213.95 as compared to previous session's closing of Rs 214.15 on the BSE and it dipped further to touch the intraday low of Rs 202.5, plunging over 5 per cent from the last closing price.
However, the stock recovered from the early losses to trade in intraday high of Rs 217.35, representing a gain of 1.49 per cent against last day's closing.

Share Price History-1,700% Jump In 5 Years
In last 5 years, the stock surged over 1,700 per cent, while in last three years it rose over 560 per cent. In a year the defence stock surged over Rs 85 per cent. However, in the last six months, the stock corrected by over 32 per cent, and in the last three months, it fell by over 30 per cent. In last five trading session the stock plummeted over 10 per cent.
Rs 73.33 crore fresh order
The stock was in focus in today's trade after the company informed that in exchange for filling that, it has received orders of a total of Rs 73.33 crore from various entities. Out of this, the defence firm received an order worth Rs 15 crore from the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO).
"The cumulative value of all orders received by the Company amounts to INR 733.26 Million (Rupees Seventy-Three Crores and Twenty Six Lakhs and only). The orders include critical Homing systems for Heavy Weight Torpedoes, Fire Control Systems, Launchers for Strategic Missile Programmes, other Avionic LRU’s for Missile and other Platforms, Cyber Security Systems for the Intelligence Department," the company said in an exchange filing.
