Hurun Rich List 2024:  “India minted a new billionaire every 5 days last year,” revealed the 2024 Hurun India Rich List. The Hurun India Rich List results demonstrate that the top wealthy individuals are creating vast amounts of wealth, with India's billionaire community once again achieving outstanding success.

According to the 2024 Hurun India Rich List, the number of billionaires has increased by 29% to cross 300, with 334 billionaires in total. This is an impressive six-fold increase since the Hurun list was established 13 years ago.

According to the list, India presently has 334 billionaires, an increase of 75 from 259 in
India continues to perform well on the wealth creation side. The number of millionaires has reached the triple century in the 2024 Hurun India Rich List, with the top 20 sectors adding new faces to the list, said Anas Rahman Junaid, founder and chief researcher of Hurun India.

Gautam Adani family emerges as richest in India- Hurun Rich List 2024

Gautam Adani and his family top the 2024 Hurun India Rich List with a net worth of Rs 11.6 lakh crore. the family's net worth surged an impressive 95%, establishing Adani as the leader of this rich list.

Adani's assets have increased significantly as a result of the significant appreciation in the share prices of various Adani Group entities in the previous year. For example, Adani Ports registered a remarkable 98% increase, fueled by increased operational efficiency and the upcoming acquisition of additional ports and container terminals.

China's billionaire population is decreasing

India is emerging as Asia's engine of wealth creation, While the number of billionaires in China fell by 25%, meanwhile India experienced a growth of 29% to reach a record 334 billionaires, he said.

This is the first-ever Hurun India Rich List featuring 1,539 billionaires, showcasing a wide range of wealth creators. The list includes people from all across industries family-run businesses, startup founders, private equity investors, next-generation leaders, film stars, and others.

According to the latest Hurun list, India has 1,539 individuals with over Rs 1,000 crore wealth. This is the first time the list has crossed the 1,500 mark with an 86 per cent increase in the last five years.
