Champions Trophy 2025: Dubai has been finalised as the neutral venue, where India's Champions Trophy matches would be held and the semifinal and the summit clash might also be held in the UAE if the Men in Blue qualify for the knockout stages. As per PCB, Dubai was picked as the neutral venue after a meeting was held between PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Sheikh Nahyan Al Mubarak on Saturday.
Sheikh Nahyan, who is holidaying in the Ghotki region of Sindh, and Naqvi, who is Pakistan's interior minister as well, met and finally decided on the logistical and administrative matters regarding the tournament, which would be held in Pakistan.
On Thursday, all the speculations around the 2025 Champions Trophy came to an end after ICC unveiled that the Men in Blue would be playing their matches at a neutral venue and wouldn't be traveling to Pakistan and the same thing would be applied when India would be holding any ICC event till 2027.
The ICC will be unveiling the full schedule soon as Pakistan will be holding 9 to 10 matches.
The summit clash would be held in Lahore if India fails to qualify as per the source.
The ICC tournaments where the hybrid model would be applied are- the 2025 Champions Trophy, the 2025 ODI Women's World Cup, and the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup, which would be held in India and Pakistan.
The Men in Blue won't be going to Pakistan for the upcoming mega-event which will be held next year wing to security reasons.
India hasn't traveled to Pakistan ever since the 26/11 terrorist attacks happened in India, where 150 people died. Both these teams last played against each other during a bilateral series in 2012.
If they want to go to Pakistan, then they also need the Indian government's clearance, and that has stayed the same.
Although BCCI has stayed firm on its stance, the issue got complicated as PCB accepted a 'one-sided' arrangement of hosting tournaments at neutral events.
Naqvi along with PCB was in no mood to accept defeat.
PCB, which had sent the Babar Azam-led side to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup had initially hesitant about the hybrid MDE but eventually accepted it
