ENG vs IND: England Announce Playing XI For Crucial Third T20I Against India

England have decided to stick with the same playing XI for the third T20I against India, which will be played at Trent Bridge on Tuesday.

The hosts are currently leading the five-match series 1-0 after registering a comfortable four-wicket win over India in Manchester on Saturday. The opening match in Durham was washed out due to rain, making England’s victory in the second game the only result so far.

With confidence high after that win, the England team management has shown faith in the same group of players as they look to take a stronger grip on the series.

England defeated India in 2nd T20I

India, led by Shreyas Iyer, handed teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi his international debut in the previous match. The youngster made a quick 14 off 10 balls, including two sixes, before being stumped off Will Jacks. He replaced Sanju Samson in the playing XI.

India finished with 190/7, thanks to useful knocks from Ishan Kishan (49) and Abhishek Sharma (43), who helped the visitors post a competitive total.

England chased down the target with one over to spare. Jacob Bethell starred with an unbeaten 76 off 46 deliveries, hitting five fours and five sixes in a match-winning innings.

Bethell also benefited from three back-foot no-balls bowled by India’s leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, smashing 29 runs in the 17th over to put England firmly in control of the chase. Earlier, Sam Curran impressed with the ball, returning figures of 3/33.

After the third T20I in Nottingham, the remaining two matches of the series will be played in Bristol on July 9 and Southampton on July 11
