India skipper Rohit Sharma was at the forefront when the hosts clinched a win in the two Super Overs thriller against Afghanistan in the final T20I of the series. India registered the 3-0 clean sweep and created history as they surpassed Pakistan to have the most whitewash in the T20I series.
Rohit won the toss and opted to bat first at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, the decision did not turn well initially as India lost four wickets inside 22 runs in 4.3 overs. But Rohit and Rinku Singh stitched a 190-run unbeaten partnership for the fifth wicket to guide the hosts to 212/4 in 20 overs.

Rohit struck 121* in 69 balls studded with eight sixes and 11 fours while Rinku slammed 39-ball 69* including six sixes and two fours.
In reply, the fifties from Rahmanullah Gurabaz (50), Ibrahim Zadran (50) and Gulbadin Naib (55) helped the visitors to match India's total on the last ball of the innings.
After the scores were tied, the match went into the Super Over in which India prevailed after the riveting two consecutive encounters. The first Super Over also ended in a tie while in the final Super Over, India bagged two wickets in three balls to conclude the longest T20I clash.

Reacting after the completion of the exciting game, Rohit said his side played the best cricket in the series to come out triumphant.
"I've got experience of playing two Super Overs, we had it one during the IPL," Rohit said in a video posted by BCCI on X.

"These entire three games we played, I thought we played our best cricket," the captain added after being named the Player of the Match.
Rinku said, "It was great fun to play two Super Overs. People enjoyed it a lot," said Rinku.
"I was caught in a whirlwind of emotions during the match but when we won it was worth the money," said Axar Patel, who was not part of the playing 11 for the the third T20I.
India will now take on England in the five-match Test series, starting in Hyderabad on January 25.
