IND vs NZ ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Final: India's star wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul represented all the Indian cricket fans as he became quite nervous when the team suffered a batting collapse. It was Axar Patel, who was dismissed first, and then Hardik Pandya. Fortunately, KL Rahul played a huge role in India's chase and helped the team lift their third Champions Trophy title. Ravindra Jadeja had smashed the winning runs but KL Rahul's unbeaten knock of 34 runs was quite important.
Post the game, Rahul was displaying all kinds of emotions, and he reckoned that he was quite nervous. He came into bat and stitched a match-winning partnership with Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel but it came to an end. When they needed just 69 runs to win the match, the Kiwi spinners started to pile the pressure again. KL Rahul was the one batter who rose up to the occasion and helped the team bounce back and has been doing that lately.
Here's what KL Rahul had to say
"I don't think I can say this on camera but I was shi***** myself. We had a couple of batters to come but I was tense. It's all about keeping yourself calm and composed in situations like this. I think I've batted in times like this in 3 out of the 5 games (in this CT) and in one of the games I didn't get to bat at all against Pakistan," KL Rahul told broadcasters during the post-match presentation.

"Hard to put it into words, pure skill and the way we've all played our cricket growing up, had to face a lot of challenges, we've had to face pressure from the time we've held a bat and decided to become professional cricketers. The way the BCCI has groomed us and the domestic circuit has trained us to handle pressure and do well in circumstances like these" he concluded.
