Chennai Super Kings' star pacer Mustafizur Rahman is expected to miss his team's next clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

As per the Cricbuzz report, the speedster has returned back to Bangladesh to process his US visa application for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, to be held in the Caribbean and the United States.

CSK will take on SRH in Hyderabad on Friday, April 5 while Mustafizur will return to Chennai on Sunday or Monday, as soon as he gets his passport back from the US embassy.

Defending champions will host Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chepauk on Monday and a delay in Mustafizur's return will also put him in jeopardy for the clash.

"Mustafizur arrived last night from the IPL for US visa purposes for the upcoming T20 World Cup. He will be giving his fingerprint at the US embassy tomorrow (April 4) and later will travel back to India to join Chennai," Cricbuzz quoted Bangladesh Cricket Board cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus as saying on Wednesday.

Mustafizur will only be available for CSk till the end of April before joining the Bangladesh squad for the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, starting on May 3.

"His NOC for the tournament runs till April 30 and we are expecting him to back after that from IPL," Yunus added.
