JE Sports Desk:  The Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is one of the most loved venues by fans in India and probably the most popular one in the southern part of the country.

The stadium has witnessed some memorable moments in world cricket and is known for hosting high-scoring matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and International matches as well.

India will be playing a game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 while Australia vs Pakistan could be the other encounter to watch out for at the famous venue.

The famous battle between Venkatesh Prasad and Aamir Sohail during the quarterfinal match between India and Pakistan in the 1996 World Cup became an unforgettable part of the journey of this stadium in Indian cricket.

Chinnaswamy stadium also witnessed Kevin O'Brien's famous knock that gave Ireland a massive success over England in the 2011 ODI World Cup. India's high-scoring tie against England came at the same venue during the same tournament.

After being granted 'Test Status' by the ICC in 2017, Afghanistan played their first-ever test match at this venue against India.

Chris Gayle's exceptional innings of 175 (66) for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Pune Warriors in 2013 still seems to be an impossible feat to reach that came at the famous venue.

M Chinnaswamy Stadium Trivia

With a capacity of 40,000 spectators, this stadium has been home to IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) since 2008. It is known for the high-scoring encounters across formats and is turned with a flood of Reds when RCB play here. The venue is also famous for being a close-to-heart venue to the former India and RCB captain Virat Kohli who has scored loads of runs during his IPL career, including some memorable partnerships with Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers
