JE Sports Desk:  Ravichandran Ashwin is known for his humorous activeness on social media apart from his brilliance on the field.

However, Ashwin was forced by trollers to publically wish MS Dhoni who celebrates his 42nd birthday on Friday.

The off-spinner said it can be "catastrophic" to tweet on Dhoni's birthday without wishing him, adding that this is the last time he's doing so as a disclaimer.

"Tweeting on July 7th without wishing the great man a happy birthday can prove to be catastrophic. Happy birthday Mahi bhai. #disclaimer this will be my last birthday wish on Twitter for anyone. I believe I will stick to wishing them directly or call them.

The disclaimer was for all gossip mongers and story spinners," Ashwin wrote on Twitter.

The veteran spinner clarified that he prefers wishing people directly rather than putting something on social media.

The instance followed after Ashwiun sent out a couple of tweets earlier in the day regarding Tamim Iqbal reversing his retirement and the other on Ben Stokes' brilliant knock in the Ashes.

A few unhappy fans took on Ashwin and trolled him as the 36-year-old put an explanation for the "gossip mongers" and "story spinners".

"Stokes and Headingley is beyond just a love story #Ashes2023," Ashwin had tweeted after Ben Stokes once again played remarkable innings in Headingley on the second day of the third Ashes Test.

Ashwin also responded surprisingly to Tamim Iqbal's decision to withdraw his retirement having called on his career the previous day amidst the ongoing ODI series against Afghanistan.

In a video posted by BCCI earlier in the day, Ashwin was seen showing a kind gesture along with other Indian players with the local players in West Indies.

The off-spinner had a pep talk moment with a young and local player while sitting on the stairs and even signed autographs and gave photographs to the fans who arrived to see the men in Blue ahead of the first Test.

Aswhin is part of the Test squad as India gear up for the all-format series against the men in Maroon featuring 2 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 5 T2Ois.
