India's star cricketer Rinku Singh has now been engaged to Uttar Pradsh's MP Priya Saroj during a private ceremony at a five-star hotel in Lucknow on Sunday. Lots of celebrities and politicians also attended the event like SP National President Akhilesh Yadav, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla, and actress and politician Jaya Bachan.
The photos and videos of the event had gone viral on social media.
The wedding will be held on 18th November at the Taj Hotel in Varanasi.
Who Is Priya Saroj?
Priya Saroj is a politician and a lawyer, who is currently working as an MP of Machchlishahr constituency. She is the daughter of the current MLA of Kerakat, Tufani Sraoj and she became the MP for the first time during the 2024 general elections, where she represented the Samajwadi Party.
Priya was born on November 23, 1998, in Varanasi and she went to the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute in New Delhi. She did her graduation with a B.A. with honors from Delhi University and received an LLB from Amity University, Noida. Post her graduation she had also practiced law at the Supreme Court.
According to media reports, she had joined politics even though she wanted to become a judge. During the elections last year, she contested from Machchlishahr as that's where her father held his seat and she had won by a huge margin of 38,850 votes against BJP's BP Saroj. In her campaign, she worked on issues like youth employment and women's employment.
