India vs Pakistan, ICC T20 World Cup 2026: India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in match 27 of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, February 15. India have become the first team from Group A to qualify for the Super 8s, extending their dominance at the top of the standings.
The Men in Blue came up with yet another dominating performance against the arch-rivals, maintaining their outstanding record against them. As soon as Hardik Pandya wrapped things up with Usman Tariq's wicket, there were celebrations all around from the Indian players, but they avoided the customary handshakes with the opponents. India bowled Pakistan out for just 114 runs in 18 overs.

This was Pakistan's third-lowest total in the T20 World Cups as no other batter managed to reach even the 20-run mark apart from Usman Khan and Shaheen Afridi. Usman Khan was the top run-getter for the Men in Green, having scored 44 runs in 34 balls on the back of six fours and one six. After losing early wickets, Pakistan were never on track during their run chase, and India's bowlers were brilliant enough to make it a cakewalk in the end.

For India, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy found a couple of scalps each. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav and Tilak Varma also took a wicket each. Earlier, India posted a challenging total of 175/7 in their 20 overs after being put into bat first. Ishan Kishan was the standout performer for the Men in Blue, having smashed a magnificent fifty.
He went on to play a fiery knock of 77 runs in just 49 balls on the back of 10 fours and three sixes on the surface that kept the other Indian batter under immense pressure. Kishan was named the Player of the Match, maintaining his outstanding form in the competition.
"I think the wicket was not that easy in the beginning, but sometimes you just have to believe what you want to play, what shots are on, and you have to just focus on your strength. So I was just keeping it simple and watching the ball and playing with the field, maybe trying to make them run as much as they can, but yeah, I think it worked pretty well on my side," Kishan said at the post-match presentation.
