WPL Auction 2024 Live Streaming: The player auction for the 2024 edition of the Women's Premier League will take place on Saturday, December 9 in Mumbai. In the mega-event for the second season of the WPL, 165 players will go under the gravel to fill 30 spots across five franchises.  

Already, five teams have revealed their lists of retained and released players, setting the stage for a strategic and competitive auction. The franchises will get a final opportunity to strengthen squads for the Season 2 of the marquee tournament.

At the forefront of the WPL auction are the former West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin and Australia's Kim Garth, both commanding a base price of INR 50 lakh. Hot on their heels are four other foreign players, each listed with a base price of INR 40 lakh. The group includes Australian all-rounders Annabel Sutherland and Georgia Wareham, South African pace sensation Shabnim Ismail, and English wicketkeeper Amy Jones.

Team strategies also come into play, with the Gujarat Giants holding the largest purse at INR 5.95 crore. Having released a majority of their squad, they are poised to make significant moves in the auction.

On the other end of the spectrum, the defending champions Mumbai Indians have a more conservative budget, with only INR 2.1 crore remaining in their purse. The Delhi Capitals, with just three slots available, face a different challenge but will undoubtedly be strategic in their approach.
