Delhi Crime: Mother, Two Sons Found Hanging At Kalkaji Residence, Financial Strain Likely Reason; Police Probe On

A deeply disturbing incident has surfaced in the Kalkaji area of Delhi, where three members of the same family were found dead in their home. The victims, a mother and her two sons, were discovered hanging from a ceiling fan on Saturday in the southeast Delhi neighbourhood.

The tragedy was revealed around 2:47 pm on December 12, when the police arrived at the residence to carry out a court order concerning the property’s possession. According to DCP (Southeast) Hemant Tiwari, officers found a handwritten note at the scene that suggested the family had been battling depression.

“The note reflects the emotional struggles the family faced, which could have driven them to take such an extreme step,” the DCP explained.

As reported by India Today, when attempts to contact the family went unanswered, the police used a spare key to enter the home. Inside, they discovered the bodies of Anuradha Kapoor (52) and her sons, Ashish Kapoor (32) and Chaitanya Kapoor (27), all of whom had died by hanging from the ceiling fan.

Early investigations point to the possibility that severe mental health issues and financial problems may have led to this tragic event.

The Kalkaji police station received a PCR call around 2:47 pm that alerted them to a suspected suicide at G-70B, Kalkaji. Responding quickly, officers assessed the scene and were immediately alerted to the gravity of the situation. The news sent shockwaves through the community, with residents visibly shaken. Senior police officials were quickly informed.
