In light of the ongoing redevelopment work at the New Delhi Railway Station, the Northern Railway has implemented significant changes to parking arrangements and fee structures effective from today, December 26. The parking facility on the Paharganj side has been closed, and all parking operations have now shifted exclusively to the Ajmeri Gate side.
Parking Expanded And Fees Revised
To accommodate the influx of vehicles, the parking area on the Ajmeri Gate side has been expanded. Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Northern Railway, Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, stated that the revision in parking fees for the drop-off lane is intended to ease vehicle movement and enhance passenger convenience.
New Fee Structure (Private Vehicles)
0 to 8 Minutes: Free drop-off facility continues as before.
9 to 15 Minutes: A fee of Rs 50 will be charged.
16 to 30 Minutes: The fee has been reduced to Rs 150 (previously Rs 200).
More than 30 Minutes: The fee has been significantly reduced to Rs 200 (previously Rs 500).

Rules For Cabs And Autos
Commercial Cabs: Cab drivers are no longer exempt from entry charges and must pay a fee of Rs 30.
Auto-Rickshaws: To prevent traffic congestion, auto-rickshaws are strictly prohibited from entering the pick-up and drop-off lanes.
Penalties And Restrictions
Parking for more than one hour in the pick-up and drop-off lanes is not permitted. Vehicles found violating this rule will be towed, and an additional penalty of Rs 300 will be charged.
Premium Parking Capacity Increased
The station infrastructure has been upgraded with the creation of two premium parking areas on the Ajmeri Gate side, whereas previously there was only one. These new areas have a combined capacity to accommodate approximately 300 vehicles.
