Municipal Council Chairperson Saroj Rathi on Thursday met with Public Works Department (PWD) Executive Engineer (XEN) Anil Rohilla to submit a letter containing five crucial suggestions for the construction of the Delhi-Rohtak Road.

Describing the road as the "lifeline of Bahadurgarh city," the Chairperson emphasised that with thousands of vehicles using it daily, the highest priority must be given to quality and technical strength. The goal is to ensure the road remains safe and durable for a long time, preventing it from falling into disrepair again. Chairperson's representative Ramesh Rathi was also present during the meeting.

Problem Areas And Proposed Solutions

In the memorandum, Saroj Rathi identified five specific low-lying sections of the road that are prone to frequent waterlogging, leading to recurring potholes and traffic jams. These areas are:

- In front of the Civil Hospital

- Near Standard Sweets at Lal Chowk

- The lane of former MLA Surajmal

- Vivekananda Nagar Chowk near Mungeshpur Drain

- The section under the metro station

To address these persistent issues, the Chairperson put forward the following technical suggestions:

Use of Water-Resistant Materials: In the identified waterlogging-prone spots, the road should be constructed using either cement-concrete or a layer of mastic asphalt to prevent damage from standing water.

Increased Road Height: If the above is not possible under the tender conditions, the quantity of bitumen concrete should be increased to raise the level of the road in these low-lying areas.

Proper Drainage and Slope: The road's slope must be directed towards the drains to ensure immediate runoff of rainwater, preventing accumulation.

Correct Tile Placement: The tiles being laid on the roadside should be positioned at a level lower than the bitumen road to stop water from flowing back onto the main carriageway.

Rathi urged the Executive Engineer to immediately incorporate these suggestions into the construction plan to avoid the need for frequent and costly repairs in the future.
