CBSE CSSS scholarship: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Department of Higher Education, has begun accepting applications for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students (CSSS) from September 13. Those interested may apply for new online applications or renew their scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), scholarships.gov.in.

According to the CBSE statement, applicants can register for fresh applications, the first renewal for 2023, the second renewal for 2022, the third renewal for 2021, and the fourth renewal for 2020. The deadline for submitting renewal and fresh application forms is October 31, 2024.

To avoid application cancellations, interested applicants should apply before the deadline and have their applications validated by the institutes. Applicants must present a list of original documents as requested by the institutes, or their application will be considered invalid.

CBSE CSSS scholarship: Objectives

The CSSS scholarship is supported by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education. The scheme has been running since 2008. The CSSS scheme's purpose is to financially support excellent students and aid them with their day-to-day expenditures while seeking higher education. To be eligible for the initiative, the applicant's annual household income must be less than Rs 4.5 lakh.

CBSE CSSS scholarship

The initiative seeks to provide 82,000 scholarships per year, including 41,000 for boys and 41,000 for girls, allocated among state education boards based on the population of students aged 18 to 25.

Students who achieve more than 80% in their respective field of study in Class 12 are qualifying for application. Those who are already receiving benefits from other scholarships are not eligible for this plan.

According to the scholarship initiative, applicants would receive Rs 12,000 each year for the first three years and Rs 20,000 for the fourth and fifth years.
