A new regional office and center of excellence for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is being established in Dubai. The new office was approved by the Ministry of Education. The board has released the notification at cbse.gov.in.

“Consequent upon the approval of affiliation committee in its meeting held on 9.05.2023 and ratification by the governing body in the meeting held on 14.06.2023 and subsequent approval of the controlling authority of the board i.e. secretary (SEandL), Ministry of Education, Govt of India, a new regional office and centre of excellence (CoE) is being opened in Dubai, United Arab Emirates,” reads the official notification.

According to the notification, under the regional office in Dubai, all foreign schools associated with the CBSE board will fall under its jurisdiction. Beginning with the 2024–25 academic year, the board will operate out of its Dubai office. After the regional office has been operationalised, the center of excellence will begin its training programs.

“Henceforth, the jurisdiction of the regional office, Delhi (east) shall remain the same except for foreign schools from the academic session 2024-25 onwards,” the notice further reads.

The establishment of a CBSE office in Dubai was announced by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan last year. In Abu Dhabi, the minister had a meeting with HE Sara Musallam, the MoS for early education and ADEK chairperson.
