CUET UG EXAM 2026: The Students' Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) has urged the National Testing Agency (NTA) to postpone the CUET UG 2026 examination scheduled for May 28, citing a possible clash with Eid al-Adha celebrations in several parts of the country. The request was made shortly after the release of admit cards for candidates appearing on the said date.
According to SIO India, conducting a national-level entrance examination during an important religious festival may create difficulties for students, especially those travelling to distant examination centres. The organisation stated that candidates may face issues related to transportation, accommodation, and participation in religious observances.
What Has SIO Demanded From NTA?
SIO has reportedly submitted a memorandum to the National Testing Agency requesting that the May 28 examination be shifted to another date. The organisation said the decision would help ensure inclusivity, fairness, and equal opportunity for students from diverse social and religious backgrounds.
Several students and parents have also raised concerns on social media after the admit cards were released, asking NTA to reconsider the examination date.
What Is the CUET UG 2026 Exam Schedule?
The CUET UG 2026 examination is being conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from May 11 to May 31 across India and in 14 international cities. According to NTA data, more than 15 lakh candidates have registered for the undergraduate entrance examination this year.
Has NTA Issued Any Official Response?
As of now, the National Testing Agency has not released any official notification regarding the postponement or rescheduling of the May 28 CUET UG 2026 examination. The official schedule available on the NTA website continues to list the exam as planned.
