IIT Bombay Placement Report: Average Salary Hits Rs 23.5 Lakh, 22 Students Secures Rs 1 Crore Packages

IIT Bombay Placement Report: IIT Bombay has released its placement report for the 2023-24 academic year. Out of 2,414 registered students, 1,979 actively participated in the recruitment process, and 1,475 accepted job offers. The average salary for students was Rs 23.50 LPA, with a median salary of Rs 17.92 LPA. Twenty-two students secured packages of Rs 1 Crore or more, and 78 accepted offers for international jobs. About 364 companies extended nearly 1,650 job offers, with Engineering and Technology being the top recruiting sectors.

Placement percentages are as follows: 83.39 per cent for BTech, 83.5 per cent for MTech, and 93.33 per cent for MS Research. Dual degree (BTech and MTech) placements stand at 79.16 per cent, while MSc placements are at 55.06 per cent. Electrical Engineering received the highest number of job offers at 232, followed by Computer Science Engineering with 230 offers, and Mechanical Engineering with 229 offers.

During the 2023-2024 placement session, 78 international job offers were made by firms based in countries including Japan, Taiwan, Europe, UAE, Singapore, USA, Netherlands, and Hong Kong. This represents an increase of 65 offers compared to the previous year. The session featured participation from various sectors, including Core Engineering, Information Technology, Software Programming, Research and Development, Consulting, Finance, Banking, High-end Technology, and Technical Services.
