CBSE CTET 2026 Exam: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce revised dates for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test soon. Candidates can currently fix errors in their submitted applications, with the correction facility live on ctet.nic.in from September 7 to 10.

This comes after CBSE reopened the application window on August 25,  giving candidates a fresh chance to register,  following the original May 11 to June 10 registration cycle that had targeted a September 6 exam date, which has now been pushed back.

Why CBSE Reopened the Portal?

CBSE pointed to a Supreme Court observation about the importance of giving eligible teachers a fair chance to complete their required TET qualification, and cited this as the reason for reopening applications for candidates who'd missed the earlier window.

CTET 2026: Understanding Paper 1 and Paper 2

CBSE has clarified the exam structure for aspiring teachers:

Paper 1 – for candidates aiming to teach Classes 1 to 5
Paper 2 – for candidates aiming to teach Classes 6 to 8

Candidates wishing to become eligible for both teaching levels must appear for both papers in the same exam sitting, as per official CTET guidelines.

Correction Window Details

Candidates who applied in the original May–June cycle are also eligible to edit their details now. The correction facility runs only through September 10, after which no further changes will reportedly be allowed before the new exam date is announced.

Exam Day Rules

Candidates must use only blue or black ballpoint pens; pencils and gel pens are barred. The OMR sheet is machine-graded, and CBSE has warned that incorrect or incomplete filling is the candidate's own responsibility. The OMR also requires accurate entry of roll number, candidate's and father's name, and centre details.
