About This Course:
The primary objective of learning science is to foster scientific thinking (such as objectivity, critical thinking, skill acquisition, and an understanding of methods and processes), natural curiosity, aesthetic sensibility, and creativity in children.
With this in mind, the Department of Education in Science and Mathematics (DESM) at NCERT, New Delhi, has developed this online course primarily for teachers instructing science up to Class 8. The course will not only enhance teachers' understanding of the nature and role of science but also shed light on how children learn science and the specific competencies, skills, attitudes, and approaches teachers need to cultivate.
Consequently, it will flexibly facilitate capacity building for a large number of teachers, particularly those with limited access to educational resources or capacity-building programs.
