Uttarakhand School Holiday (24 Jan): The weather in Uttarakhand took a sudden turn on Friday. While some districts of the state experienced rain and snowfall from Friday morning, by evening, the entire Uttarakhand was drenched in this wintry shower of rain and snow. This brought relief to some, but also disrupted daily life. Meanwhile, a major news update regarding schools has emerged concerning a holiday on Saturday, January 24th.
A one-day holiday has been declared for all government, semi-government, and private schools, as well as Anganwadi centers, in the Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi, and Tehri Garhwal districts of the state on Saturday, January 24th.
This decision was taken by the respective district administrations in view of the continuous rain and snowfall and the weather department's alert for heavy rain and snowfall to continue on Saturday, January 24th.
All schools from Class 1 to 12 will be closed tomorrow:
A holiday has been declared for all government and private schools from Class 1 to 12 in the Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi, and Tehri Garhwal districts of Uttarakhand on January 24th. The district administration has taken this precautionary measure, considering the prevailing circumstances, to ensure the safety and well-being of the students.

According to the order issued by the administration, this holiday will apply to all schools affiliated with all boards in the district. Separate guidelines may be issued regarding teachers and other staff during the school closure. Further orders regarding holidays may be issued depending on the situation.

The weather in Uttarakhand changed sharply on Friday, with rain and snowfall reported in several districts from the morning. It is worth noting that a Western Disturbance became active across North India, including Uttarakhand, from Thursday night. Considering this, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain and snowfall on January 23 and 24.
