Karnataka Election Result 2023: Bagepalli (Gen) is a legislative assembly constituency in the Chikkaballapur district of Southern Karnataka. It falls within the Chikkballapur parliamentary constituency.

The current Karnataka Assembly Elections are characterised by a direct contest between the incumbent BJP and the principal opposition Congress. The BJP is heavily relying on the popularity of PM Modi and the narrative of a double-engine government. Meanwhile, the Congress has emphasised corruption as the primary issue in the lead-up to the election.

Bagepalli Assembly Election 2023

In the Karnataka Elections, held on May 10, the Bagepalli constituency in the Chikkaballapur district of the state will see a contest between Nagaraj Reddy from Janata Dal (Secular), SN Subba Reddy from the Congress, and C Muniraju from the BJP. The election results will be announced on May 13, and the winning party will need to secure at least 113 seats out of the total 224 seats to form the government in Karnataka.

Bagepalli constituency has a total of 194,781 voters, including general, NRI, and service voters. Out of the general voters, there are 97,085 male, 97,655 female, and 24 others. The constituency has an electorate sex' ratio of 100.57 and an estimated literacy rate of 63 per cent.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, B N Bache Gowda from the BJP had emerged victorious in the Chikballapur Lok Sabha (MP) seat, defeating Congress’ M Veerappa Moily by a margin of 1,82,110 votes.

Bagepalli Assembly Election 2018

In the 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections, the constituency was won by SN Subba Reddy (Chinnakayalapalli) of the Congress, who defeated G.V. Sreeramareddy of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) by a margin of 14,013 votes.

In the 2013 Karnataka Assembly elections, the Congress party emerged victorious in this constituency with a lead of 30,755 votes (20.44 per cent), obtaining 44.01 per cent of the total votes cast. The voter turnout in that year was 85.55 per cent.

In the 2008 Karnataka Assembly elections, this constituency was won by the Congress with a slim margin of 938 votes (0.75 per cent), receiving 25.86 per cent of the total votes. The voter turnout for this seat in the 2018 elections was 82.6 per cent.
