Karnataka Election Result 2023: Gubbi (Gen) is one among the 224 Assembly constituencies in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly located in the Tumkur district of the southern part of the state. It is a segment of the Tumkur Lok Sabha constituency.
The current Karnataka Assembly Elections are characterised by a direct contest between the incumbent BJP and the principal opposition Congress. BJP is heavily relying on the popularity of PM Modi and the narrative of a double-engine government. Meanwhile, Congress has emphasised corruption as the primary issue in the lead-up to the election.
Gubbi Assembly Election 2023:
In the upcoming Karnataka Elections, the town of Gubbi, will see a contest between Nagaraja from the Janata Dal (Secular), SR Srinivas from the Congress, and SD Dileep Kumar from the BJP. The election was held on May 10, and the results will be declared on May 13. To establish the government in Karnataka, the winning party must secure at least 113 out of the total 224 seats.

The JD(S) candidate, SR Srinivas (also known as Vasu), secured the seat in 2018, defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's G N Bettaswamy by a margin of 9,081 votes.
SR Srinivas, four-time MLA from Gubbi constituency in Tumakuru district, had joined the Congress in the presence of KPCC president D.K. Shivakumar and Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah last month.
The constituency has a total of 1,80,373 voters, including general voters, NRI voters, and service voters. Of the general voters, 90,878 are male, 89,435 are female, and 19 belong to other genders. The constituency's sex' ratio among voters is 98.37, and the estimated literacy rate is around 75 per cent.
Gubbi Assembly Election 2018:
The JD(S) candidate, S R Srinivas (also known as Vasu), secured the seat in 2018, defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's G N Bettaswamy by a margin of 9,081 votes.
During the 2013 Karnataka Assembly Elections, JD(S) emerged victorious in this constituency, winning by a margin of 7,244 votes, which translates to 5.19 per cent of the total votes cast. JDS obtained 42.09 per cent of the total votes. The constituency had a voter turnout of 83.22 per cent that year.
During the 2008 Assembly election, JD(S) had won this seat with a margin of 14,672 votes (11.81 per cent) registering 42.11 per cent of the votes polled.
