Jevargi Election Result 2023: Congress Candidate Ajay Dharam Singh Wins By Defeating BJP's Shivanagoudapatil Raddevadagi

KARNATAKA Election Result 2023: Jevargi is a town in the Kalaburagi district of the southern state and one of 224 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Karnataka. It falls under the segment Gulbarga Lok Sabha seat.

The voting on Jevargi along with 223 member Legislative Assembly in Karnataka was held on May 10 in a single phase while the results was declared on May 13. Over 3,000 candidates are in the fray for the upcoming Assembly polls in Karnataka.

Jevargi constituency is the stronghold of Congress as the party has secured two consecutive terms from this seat. In 2008, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bagged victory in this seat. In the upcoming May 10 Assembly polls, the Jevargi constituency will see a close fight between Congress and BJP.

Jevargi Assembly Election 2018:

In the 2018 Assembly election, Ajay Dharam Singh, a Congress candidate won the seat against BJP’s Doddappagowda S Patil Naribol with a margin of 16056 votes (10.01 per cent of total valid votes). Singh bagged 68,508 votes while Naribol secured 52,452 votes. While Kedarlingayya Hiremath, JD(S) candidate was a third runner-up.

Out of 2,34,403 registered electors, a total of 1,61,810 voters turned out in the 2018 Assembly election which included general voters, NRI voters, and service voters. Among the general voters, 83,144 were male and 77,590 were female. According to the Election Commission of India, the constituency witnessed a 69.03 per cent voter turnout.
