Karnataka Assembly Election 2023: The elections to the 224-member Legislative Assembly in Karnataka will be taking place next month. The voting process will be held on May 10, 2023 and the results for the same will be declared on May 13, 2023.
Periyapatna (Piriyapatna) assembly constituency is one of the 224 assembly constituencies in the state of Karnataka and is situated in Mysore district. The general category assembly seat is one of the 8 segments of the Mysore Parliament Seat.

Eyeing another tenure, Janata Dal (secular)’s K. Mahadev will be competing against Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajashekar Doddanna, Indian National Congress’ K.Venkatesh and Bharatiya Janata Party’s C.H. Vijayashankar.
Periyapatna Assembly Election 2023
Periyapatna is divided into 15 wards and the elections are held every five years. According to the 2019 Parliament Election, Periyapatna comprises 183642 voters, out of which 32% are Vokkaliga voters, 20% are Kuruba voters, 12% are Uphar Samaj voters and 6% are Lingayat voters in this constituency. The rural voters are approximately 171,044, which is approximately 93.14% as per 2011 Census, while the remaining 12,598 (around 6.86%) are urban voters. SCs constitute 31,605 of the voters in the assembly constituency, while 15,573 are ST voters.
The number of polling booths in Periyapatna assembly constituency is 235. As per the voter list analysis, Muslim makeup for 17,997 of the voters, while 550 are Christian voters.
Periyapatna Assembly Election 2018
In 2018, JD(S) K. Mahadeva won the Periyapatna assembly seat by a margin of 7493 votes. The runner-up was Indian National Congress’ K. Venkatesh. While JD(S) got 49.95% of the total votes, INC secured 45.14% of the votes.
It was a surprising win for JD(S) K. Mahadeva, who lost twice to INC’s K. Venkatesh; in 2013 and 2008 assembly elections.
