Aamir Khan recently talked about his long-awaited project, Mahabharat. The superstar gave an update on the movie and stated that he might start working on it this year itself. With Mahabharat, Aamir Khan will be turning as a producer and backing this project under his banner Aamir Khan Productions.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir said “I’m hoping to start work on it this year.” The actor stated that the writing process itself will take several years. He added, “We’ll see who we should cast based on who’s appropriate for which part.”

“I don’t think you can tell Mahabharat in one film, so it will be multiple films. I am looking at the large scale. It’s too early to say, but we may need multiple directors,” he added.

Earlier in 2022, in an interview with Galatta Plus, Aamir talked about Mahabharat film adaptation and said “When you are making a film on Mahabharata, you are not just making a film. You are performing a yagya. It is not just a film, it is much more. And, that is why I am not ready for it yet. I am scared of bringing it out. Mahabharata will never let you down, but you may let down Mahabharata.”

Aamir Khan will next be seen in Sitaare Zameen Par, which also stars Genelia Deshmukh. It has been directed by RS Prasanna and produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao. The film was adapted from the 2018 Spanish movie Champions.
