Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan expressed his gratitude to Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Saturday in a hilarious tweet for restoring his blue verification badge on the microblogging site.
On Thursday, Twitter had launched its paid service called Twitter Blue, resulting in many high-profile "legacy accounts" losing their blue check marks as they had not subscribed to Twitter Blue. This affected prominent figures in the entertainment industry in India, including popular actors like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, who lost their verification ticks.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, Big B had written, "Hey twittair bhiya ! sun rahe hain ? ab to paisa bhee bhar diye hain ham ... to u jo neel kamal hot hai na, hamaar naam ke aage, u to vaapas lagaay den bhaiya , taaki log jaan jaayen kee ham hee hain - amitabh bachhchhan .. haath to jod liye rahe ham . ab ka, godava jode padee ka ?? (Hey Twitter brother! Are you listening? Now we have paid the money too... So that blue lotus is there, right, put it back brother, so that people know that we are the ones - Amitabh Bachchan .. with folded hands. Now, should I touch your feet too)??"
However, after his blue tick was reinstated, he tweeted on Saturday, "T 4624 - ae Musk bhaiyya! Bahut bahut dhanyavaad det hain ham aapaka! Uu, neel kamal lag gava hamaar naam ke aage (T 4624 - Hey Musk brother! Thank you very much! The blue tick has been added in front of my name)!
"Ab ka batayi bhaiyya! (Grinning face with smiling eyes emoji) gaana gaye ka mann karat hai hamaar! Sanbo ka? The 1994 movie Mohra featured the popular track Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast, starring Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon. The film was directed by Rajiv Rai and also included notable actors such as Suniel Shetty, Naseeruddin Shah, Gulshan Grover, and Paresh Rawal.
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan is next set to appear in the upcoming movie Section 84, which is a courtroom thriller written and directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. Along with Amitabh Bachchan, the movie also features Diana Penty, Nimrat Kaur, and Abhishek Banerjee in significant roles. The film is being produced by Reliance Entertainment and Film Hangar and presented by Reliance Entertainment in collaboration with Jio Studios.
Big B also has Project K in his kitty alongside Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the film is slated for release on January 12, 2024.
