Baby John vs Pushpa 2 Box Office Collection: Varun Dhawan's latest action-packed film, Baby John, saw a promising start at the box office but suffered a significant drop on its second day. After earning an impressive Rs 11.25 crore on Christmas Day, the film managed only Rs 4.5 crore on Thursday, as per early estimates by Sacnilk.

Baby John, directed by Kalees, opened in theatres on Wednesday and initially drew audiences with its gripping storyline and Dhawan's dual roles as police inspector Satya Verma and his alter ego, John. The film is a Hindi remake of the 2016 Tamil blockbuster Theri, originally helmed by Atlee and starring Vijay. The cast also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Keerthy Suresh, and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles.

Despite its promising start, the film's second-day collections dropped sharply, with a reported Hindi occupancy rate of just 11.09%. The total budget for the movie, including production, prints, and advertising, is said to be around Rs 160 crore. For Baby John to break even, it needs to earn at least Rs 190-200 crore. However, with its current trajectory, trade experts predict a lifetime collection of approximately Rs 50 crore if it doesn’t see a turnaround over the weekend.

Adding to its challenges, Baby John faces stiff competition from Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, which continues to dominate the box office even in its third week. On Thursday (day 22), Pushpa 2 raked in Rs 9.6 crore, reaffirming its blockbuster status. The live-action Disney film Mufasa: The Lion King has also been drawing audiences, further dividing attention at the box office. With the weekend ahead, Baby John still has a chance to recover its numbers. Strong word-of-mouth and increased footfall in theatres could help the film gain momentum. However, it remains to be seen whether the Varun Dhawan starrer can overcome its slow start and emerge as a box-office success.
