BLACKPINK members Jennie and Lisa have been making headlines for their recent solo activities. Jennie, the popular rapper and singer of BLACKPINK, recently appeared on the JTBC variety show My Name is Gabriel. As part of the show's format, Jennie had to live as “Maria,” a farmhouse owner, for 72 hours and interact with guests while keeping her identity hidden. A viral clip from the episode shows Jennie hilariously denying being a BLACKPINK member when a guest asked if they had seen her on a poster of a group in his sister’s room. To maintain her disguise, Jennie responded that she works on the farm and shook her head when the guest tried to mimic BLACKPINK’s iconic phrase “BLACKPINK in your area.”

Jennie’s appearance on My Name is Gabriel has garnered significant attention online. The episode, featuring Jennie as Maria, premiered on JTBC and Disney+ later that evening. Fans of the singer praised her witty responses and playful interaction with the guests.

Adding to her solo activities, Jennie is set to release her new single, Mantra, on October 11, 2024. The upcoming song has already piqued the curiosity of fans, with Jennie dropping stunning concept photos featuring a retro theme and lyrics hinting at a strong rap presence. On October 3, 2024, Lisa released her third pre-release single Moonlit Floor, which showcases a different side of her vocal abilities. Unlike her previous solo releases such as ROCKSTAR and New Woman, Moonlit Floor is a sweet and romantic track that highlights Lisa’s soft vocals. The all-English track samples the 1997 hit song Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer, blending nostalgia with a modern touch.

The track's lyrics, including the line “Green-eyed French Boy got me trippin’,” have sparked speculations among fans, with many believing it hints at her rumoured relationship with Frédéric Arnault, CEO of LVMH Watches. However, Lisa has neither confirmed nor denied these rumours. Instead, the idol focused on her music, performing Moonlit Floor at the 2024 Global Citizen Festival held in New York City’s Central Park on September 28. Fans are pointing out that Lisa did not write the song lyrics and are saying that the fans who thought she was dating a French boy with green eyes are mistaken.

Lisa’s solo career has flourished since her debut as a soloist in 2021 with her single album LALISA. Earlier in June 2024, she released ROCKSTAR and later collaborated with Rosalía for the track New Woman in August. Moonlit Floor marks her latest solo venture after parting ways with YG Entertainment.

Aside from her musical endeavours, Lisa will also make her acting debut in the upcoming HBO series The White Lotus Season 3. Filming for the series reportedly concluded in Thailand earlier this year, and fans are eagerly waiting to see Lisa’s acting skills on screen under the name Lalisa Manobal.
