BLACKPINK ROSÉ is ready to make her mark as a solo artist with the release of her debut album, Rosie, on December 6, 2024. The album will feature 12 tracks, including the much-anticipated lead single APT. Before embarking on this significant journey, the Kpop star shared how Taylor Swift inspired and guided her during a casual hangout in New York City.

In an interview with i-D Magazine, ROSÉ revealed she met Taylor Swift at a gathering hosted by Jack Antonoff at Electric Lady Studios. As a long-time fan, ROSÉ asked Swift questions about navigating the music industry as a solo artist. “As soon as she met me, she’s like, ‘Spill, let me help you out,’” ROSÉ shared, adding that Swift even shared her number and offered advice.

The BLACKPINK singer was touched by Swift’s generosity and described her as “such a girl’s girl.” She explained, “She was telling me – ‘make sure to take care of this, this, and this’ – like, logistics. She was trying to protect me. Me becoming solo, being independent, it’s not an easy thing.” Swift’s words of wisdom provided ROSÉ with a sense of clarity and support during what she described as a “drowning” moment in her career.

Beyond this heartwarming interaction, ROSÉ’s interview also sparked discussions for a different reason. When asked about NewJeans and their controversy with HYBE in relation to executive producer Min Hee-jin, ROSÉ gracefully handled the situation. She responded, “I want to talk about positive things. I love those girls so much." While fans praised her poised reply, many criticized the question, deeming it irrelevant and inappropriate given the context of the interview.

One fan on X (formerly Twitter) commented, “It’s her moment; it must be about her and only her.” Others echoed similar sentiments, suggesting the focus should remain on ROSÉ’s journey and music. Despite the controversy, fans appreciated her response and the grace with which she navigated the unexpected query.

ROSÉ also reflected on the creative process of making Rosie. Describing the experience as therapeutic, she called it her safe space amidst the chaos of her career. “It felt like being held by my mother,” she said, adding that the album captures her personal stories and emotions.

Before the full album drops, fans can look forward to the release of her new track Number One Girl on November 22, 2024, at 12 a.m. EST (10:30 a.m. IST). With her solo debut just weeks away, ROSÉ’s journey is already a source of excitement for BLINKs worldwide. Rosie promises to reveal a deeper, more personal side of ROSÉ, who continues to inspire fans with her artistry, resilience and ability to stay grounded despite the pressures of fame.
