Border 2: In an exciting development for the fans of 1997 Sunny Deol starrer war drama Border, the filming for the sequel of the film has been started. In the sequel, Sunny Deol will be seen reprising his role of Major Kuldip Singh. The star-studded cast of the Border 2, announced this year in June, includes Varun Dhawan, Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty.
Border 2 makers on Tuesday shared the first picture from film sets featuring the clapboard on its Instagram handle. The post read, "The cameras are rolling for Border 2! Border 2 is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Dutta’s JP Films, the movie is helmed by Anurag Singh, who is ready to take forward the legacy of the cult movie with his visionary.
Released in 1997, cult classic Border is set in the backdrop of the India-Pakistan war of 1971. The film was brought to life by actors Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty and Akshaye Khanna. Not only for the storyline and performances, the patrotic movie also captivated audience with his hit songs. One of the them was Sandese Aate Hai, which was a major hit.
Border 2 was announced on the 27th anniversary of Border movie in June. The much-awaited sequel is slated to hits the theaters on Jan 23, 2026.
