Approximately 3,000 lucky members of BTS's devoted fanbase, known as ARMY, were selected through a lottery system to attend the event, while other fans had the opportunity to enjoy the show on a large screen arranged at the festival location.
During the talk session, the rapper took on the role of a radio DJ and shared stories from chosen fans. RM specifically mentioned a fan who became a fan of BTS during her middle school days and has now transitioned into a working professional.
Expressing gratitude, he remarked, "I thank you for being with BTS throughout your journey from being a student to becoming a working professional. Believing there are many fans like this, I will live on as an admirable working professional."
The singer, recognised for his exceptional proficiency in English, also took the opportunity to discuss his personal experiences with regards to the language. "I would not have studied English so diligently if I had not become a member of BTS," he said.
"When I was first abruptly told by the agency to do a live interview, I was bewildered," he said, reminiscing about the early years in his career. "But there is a saying that office changes manners. I came to speak English to some extent as I struggled to try to reach out to as many people as possible."
He proceeded to express his gratitude towards ARMY members who have been diligently learning the Korean language in order to better comprehend BTS songs. "I heard there are many ARMYs who are working hard to learn Korean, eager to understand what we (BTS members) are saying and what we want to say through the lyrics of our songs," he said. "It's not easy to learn a language, is it? I'm grateful and touched that you are studying the language with a pure heart of loving us."
During the event, the rapper delivered a captivating performance of "Intro: Persona," a notable BTS track, as well as "Wild Flower," the prominent lead song from his solo debut album.
Every attendee at the show, along with fans watching from outside, enthusiastically rose to their feet, waving their LED wands, commonly referred to as "ARMY bombs," as if they were truly immersed in a live concert experience.
The rapper also had unexpected phone conversations with fellow band members Jungkook and V. During the call from Los Angeles, Jungkook expressed his desire to meet the fans, urging them to enjoy themselves. V, expressing his regret for not being present at the event, also shared his sentiments with the audience.
The much-anticipated one-day event held at Yeouido Han River Park marked the pinnacle of the two-week-long festival that commenced on Monday. The park underwent a remarkable transformation as it turned into a vibrant ocean of purple, the iconic colour associated with the group.
It was a sight to behold as the park overflowed with countless BTS fans, adorned in purple T-shirts, bags, hats, and masks, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle.
Moreover, the majority of the signboards and structures erected in the vicinity were adorned with the matching colour scheme. Lengthy queues of fans braved the blistering sun as they eagerly awaited their turn to capture selfies at designated photo zones or against the backdrop of notable features like "the BTS history wall" and an exhibition showcasing the group's captivating stage costumes.
Another attraction that gained immense popularity was a booth where fans could immerse themselves in the experience of applying tattoo stickers bearing the titles of the band's chart-topping songs and significant phrases associated with the group.
