BTS Jhope was recently spotted in military uniform at a training completion ceremony, stirring excitement among fans. The event marked a significant milestone for Jhope, who has been serving in the South Korean military. During the ceremony, a fan tweeted, “At today's graduation ceremony, the senior officer of Division 36 boasted that there was a superstar in his unit and everyone present applauded because this is the last group of Jhope recruits before he is discharged.” This news has brought immense joy to ARMYs, who are eagerly anticipating his return, with many expressing their excitement on social media with messages of hope and happiness.

Jhope, affectionately known as ‘Sunshine Hobi’ by his fans, is set to be discharged around October 17, 2024. His upcoming return is a cause for celebration within the BTS fandom, especially with fellow member Jin already out of the military. Fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their happiness and anticipation for Jhope's comeback, flooding the platform with heartfelt messages and supportive tweets.

Earlier this year, in May, it was announced that Jhope had earned a significant promotion within the South Korean military. He was elevated to the rank of Sergeant in recognition of his outstanding service. This promotion is not only a personal achievement for Jhope but also a source of pride for BTS and their fanbase. As a Sergeant, Jhope has taken on increased responsibilities and leadership roles within his unit, further showcasing his capabilities and dedication to serving his country.

Jhope's military journey began on April 18, 2023, when he enlisted as an active soldier at the Army A Division Recruit Training Center in Gangwon Province. After completing his initial training, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal and subsequently took on the responsibility of training juniors at the 36th Infantry Division in Wonju. Throughout his service, Jhope has maintained a low profile, focusing on his duties and maintaining a strong work ethic. 

During his enlistment, Jhope ensured that fans remained engaged and entertained by surprising them with HOPE ON THE STREET, a six-part docuseries that premiered on Prime Video and TVING starting from March 28. The series provided fans with an intimate look into his life and journey, further strengthening the bond between him and his supporters. Additionally, he delighted fans by releasing his album HOPE ON THE STREET VOL. 1 on March 29, 2024.
