Jin earlier shared a birthday message and thanked fans for constantly supporting him. Thanking fans for their warm birthday wishes, Jin wrote on Weverse, "Hello this is Jin. Thank you for wishing me a happy birthday. I always enjoyed doing my live broadcasts on my birthday with ARMY, but unfortunately, I can’t enjoy it this year, and it’s heartbreaking. Even though I can’t be there with you in person, please know that I am having an enjoyable time with you all in my heart hehe."

He added, "It’s already been a year since I joined the military. There’s still a lot of time left, but I am already excited to be with you as I have only about a 1/3 left. Oh and our members are going to join the army (LOLOLOLOL) I’m going to cry. I hope that time passes quickly and I can have a good time with the members and ARMYs again. Thanks again for the birthday wishes and I hope to see you all soon."

He revealed that he got a promotion in the military and wrote, "I’m currently Sergeant Kim Seokjin after one more early promotion due to my outstanding military career (important)."

On the work front, Jin made his debut as a solo artist with his single 'The Astronaut' and collaborated with the British rock band 'Coldplay'. The song was his goodbye gift to the BTS ARMY ahead of his military enlistment.
