Aishwarya Rai attends the Cannes Film Festival every year and is well known for flaunting her stunning looks and outfits on the red carpet. Her first look from the grand event is officially out on social media and fans can't stop gushing over her. She looks absolutely beautiful in a black gown with a long trail and floral designs on it.

The trail of the gown has golden flowers over it. The diva kept her makeup look simple and subtle.

On the work front, Aishwarya Rai was last seen in 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' and impressed everyone with her performance as Nandini. In an interview with Film Companion, Aishwarya talked about why Hindi cinema isn’t offering her the role like Nandini. She said, "Well, that’s a silent question I think all creative people end up asking.”

She added, "There are directors who create work like this and that’s why it’s such a pleasure for us as artists to work with them and to come away with movies like this, where we are proud of the work we have done. We feel immensely satisfied during the creative process and then of course, with the reaction and the response of the audience. Ponniyin Selvan: II has definitely been immensely satisfying for all of us and we are so grateful and overjoyed with the response. I’m extremely thankful and happy.”

The franchise 'Ponniyin Selvan' is an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel of the same name. The movie also stars Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban.
