Captain America: Brave New World is currently screening in cinemas worldwide. Directed by Julius Onah, the fourth installment in the Captain America film series sees Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) step into the role of the new Captain America, continuing Steve Rogers' (Chris Evans) legacy. Harrison Ford joins the cast as Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross, while the movie also stars Liv Tyler and Rosa Salazar. Sam Wilson’s role sets the stage for Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for release in 2026. With gripping storytelling and character development, the post-credits scene has sparked excitement, hinting at major alliances and conflicts that will unfold in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As we know, the MCU frequently uses post-credit scenes to advance larger stories and introduce new characters, and this film is no exception.

In Brave New World, Sam Wilson visits Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson), aka The Leader, at the high-security prison, The Raft. During their brief conversation, Sterns warns Sam about a major new calamity. The scene turns ominous as Sterns tells Wilson, “It’s coming. I’ve seen it in the probabilities, seen it plain as day.” Sterns then asks Wilson if he is ready to protect Earth from “the others.”

The Leader’s words hint at an impending multiversal battle, setting the stage for Avengers: Doomsday to expand on these threats. His clash with Sam Wilson signals the Captain’s evolution into a leader, potentially fighting against a Doctor Doom-led force. The phrase “the others” could refer to the reality inhabited by The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Robert Downey Jr.’s version of Doctor Doom. Meanwhile, President Thaddeus Ross’ transformation into Red Hulk adds another layer of tension that may shape the next Avengers team.

As per MCU end-credits scenes, this is another vague multiverse tease, referencing the MCU’s ongoing multiverse saga and alluding to threats from other universes. It hints at the setup for the upcoming Avengers movies – Doomsday and Secret Wars, slated for release in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
