Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal attended the engagement ceremony of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha and Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra at Kapurthala House in Delhi on Saturday. Kejriwal also shared pictures from the ring ceremony and extended his congratulations to the couple for the start of their new journey.

Taking to Twitter, he shared two photos congratulating the engaged couple and expressed his hope that their relationship lasts forever. He wrote, "May this beautiful pair of yours made by God last forever."

In one of the photos, the chief minister can be seen embracing Chadha, while another shows him posing for the camera with Chadha and Chopra.

The wedding ceremony contributed to the success of AAP in the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election, in which AAP candidate Sushil Rinku won by a margin of more than 58,000 votes.

"Naanke Jalandhar waleyan ne ajj da din mere layi hor vi special bana ditta (My naanka #Jalandhar has made this day even more special for me)," Chadha wrote before the engagement.

The engagement ceremony of Raghav and Parineeti was conducted according to Sikh traditions, and was held in the evening. In addition to Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Congress leader P Chidambaram, and former Maharashtra Minister Aaditya Thackeray also attended the ceremony.

For the unversed, Raghav and Parineeti have been friends for a long period of time and were classmates at the London School of Economics. Speculations of their romantic involvement began in March when they were seen together in Mumbai.

Parineeti and Raghav were recently spotted together during the Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians match being held in Mohali. While this is not the first time they have been seen together, a picture of them at the match served as a confirmation of their relationship for fans. The duo looked cute while twinning in black outfits.
