Farah Khan recently revisited a past decision that has haunted her for years - rejecting Shilpa Shirodkar for the iconic song Chhaiya Chhaiya from the movie Dil Se. In a humorous admission, Farah revealed in a vlog that she had deemed Shilpa unsuitable for the role, jokingly citing that she was "100 kilos" and questioning how she would physically fit on the train.
However, Farah extended an olive branch to Shilpa in a new vlog, promising to cast her in a hypothetical sequel, Chhaiya Chhaiya 2, if the song were ever to be remade.
Shilpa recalled Farah's previous comments, joking, "You said, 'Shilpa was at least 100 kilos. How will she get on the train? And if she does, where will Shah Rukh stand?'" The two burst into laughter as Farah reassured Shilpa that she would definitely cast her in a sequel. Shilpa playfully quipped, "I will be on the train with dancers and Shah Rukh!"
Shilpa had opened up about the painful experience on Siddharth Kannan's YouTube channel, stating, "I didn't get it because I was fat. They just said I am fat." Although missing out on "Chhaiya Chhaiya" was undoubtedly disappointing, Shilpa chose to maintain a positive outlook. She reflected, "I will always feel bad that I didn't get the song, but God gave me much more, and He is still giving me."
Shilpa Shirodkar is an Indian actress and former photo model, born on November 20, 1973. She initially gained recognition for her work in Hindi-language films, with a career spanning from 1989 to 2000. Her return to the entertainment industry marked a shift towards television, as she joined the cast of the Zee TV series Ek Mutthi Aasmaan.
