Thalapathy Vijay is all set for the release of his much-anticipated movie GOAT (The Greatest Of All Time) which will hit the theatres on September 5, 2024. Following the release of the film's trailer, director Venkat Prabhu took the opportunity to address the burning question on everyone's mind: whether the film's lead actor, Vijay, would continue to pursue his acting career in the film industry after making the significant decision to venture into politics.

Will Thalapathy Vijay Quit Acting After Entering Politics?

Director Venkat Prabhu denied any political influence on the film, clarifying that the song Marudhamalai Maamaniye is a nod to the 2004 film Ghilli, not a political statement. He jokingly called it "Ghilli-tical" and suggested asking the Ghilli makers about using Lord Murugan's image, not him.

According to Indian Express, GOAT director said, “Vijay sir didn’t want any line to be written that furthered his political agenda. GOAT is a commercial film. Of course, some dialogues in the trailer might allude to his political career. But when you see the film, you’ll see how it fits the narrative. There are no political references. Vijay sir sees a film as a film; we’ve never discussed politics.”

Opening up on if Vijay will quit acting after entering politics, Venkat said, “Just like everyone here, and scores of Vijay fans, I too want to see him continue acting. In fact, I asked him if he would balance both. He just smiled and said, we’ll see. It will always be our dream to see him on screen. But he has a dream too; an aspiration. And I think we should support it.”
