Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Gurucharan Singh, who had been missing since April 22, has finally returned home. If reports are to be believed, during police interrogation, he explained that he had left his ‘worldly life’ to embark on a religious journey. On Saturday, his first photo with a police officer has surfaced.

ANI posted Gurucharan's smiling photo and wrote, "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame actor Gurucharan Singh has returned home on 17 May. He had gone missing on 22nd April. The Police have recorded his statement in the court. Gurucharan Singh said he had gone away from home on a spiritual journey: Delhi Police." In the photo, the TMKOC actor is seen wearing a checkered turban and a black T-shirt.

Gurucharan Singh went missing

On April 22, Singh was scheduled to fly from Delhi to Mumbai but did not board the flight and went missing. His phone remained active until April 24, during which multiple transactions were reported by the police. Following a missing persons complaint filed by his father, Hargit Singh, the Delhi Police registered a kidnapping case in April. "My son Gurucharan Singh, Age: 50 years, had left at 8:30 am on 22nd April to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn’t reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable and we had been searching for him but now he has been missing."

CCTV footage from the day of his disappearance captured Gurucharan Singh walking with a bag on his back. During the investigation, a police officer revealed that Singh's financial situation was unstable, with several loans and outstanding dues.

In a significant discovery, authorities found that Gurucharan Singh managed over 10 financial accounts despite his financial challenges. Official sources disclosed that he had maintained numerous accounts. His activities reportedly included cash withdrawals using credit cards and paying off dues from one card with another. The last known transaction was a withdrawal of Rs 14,000 from an ATM, after which no further information was available.
