House Of The Dragon Season 3 Update: The fantasy drama hit series is back for its next season. Season 3 is now in the works and production has already begun. The original cast is returning, along with new faces to bring even more drama, intrigue and action. Just like the previous season, HBO's House of the Dragon will consist of eight episodes. Based on George R R Martin's book Fire & Blood, this popular series is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen.
The makers of House of the Dragon have introduced two new cast members for the upcoming season: Tommy Flanagan as Ser Roderick Dustin and Dan Fogler as Ser Torrhen Manderly.
The announcement came via a new video featuring Emma D'Arcy, who plays Rhaenyra Targaryen in the show. In the clip, D'Arcy holds a clapboard and says, "House of the Dragon is back in production. Here we are on day one of Season 3!"

The production has also revealed the directors for this season. House of the Dragon Season 3 will be directed by Clare Kilner, Nina Lopez-Corrado, Andrij Parekh, and Loni Peristere, according to Hollywood Reporter.
About House of the Dragon Season 3:
Ryan Condal and Martin helm the series, with both serving as executive producers. Condal acts as the showrunner. The executive producers also include Sara Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock, and Philippa Goslett.
Season 3 will feature a star-studded cast with returning members such as Matt Smith, Emma D'Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, and Abubakar Salim.
The third season will delve deeper into the brutal civil war, the Dance of the Dragons, which eventually led to the weakening of House Targaryen. The show serves as a prequel to Game of Thrones.
